The Custom
Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA)
is a global trade association of companies that specialize
in planning and installing electronic systems for
the home. These systems include home networking, home
automation and communication systems, media rooms,
single or multi-room entertainment systems, and integrated
whole-house subsystems providing control of lighting,
security and HVAC systems. The association was founded
in September 1989 and has a total membership of approximately
2,200 member companies.
CEDIA members are established, insured businesses
with bona fide qualifications and experience in this
specialized field. Member classifications include
designer/installers, manufacturers, sales representatives,
distributors, consultants and affiliates.
CEDIA is a not-for-profit association based in Indianapolis,
Indiana. It is controlled by its members, who annually
elect officers and board members.

The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) is a
Washington, D.C.-based trade association whose mission
is to enhance the climate for housing and the building
industry. Chief among NAHB's goals is providing and
expanding opportunities for all consumers to have
safe, decent and affordable housing. As "the voice
of America's housing industry," NAHB helps promote
policies that will keep housing a national priority.
Founded in 1942, NAHB is a federation of more than
800 state and local associations. About one-third
of NAHB's 211,000 members are home builders and/or
remodelers. The remaining members are associates working
in closely related fields within the housing industry,
such as mortgage finance and building products and
services.
The association is member-driven, with a professional
staff of nearly 300. More than 2,800 members serve
on the association's board of directors, which elects
the association's Senior Officers and helps set the
association's agenda.
NAHB analyzes policy issues, takes the industry's
story to the public, monitors and works toward improving
the housing finance system, and analyzes and forecasts
economic trends. The association also represents the
industry's interests on Capitol Hill and strives to
ensure that housing remains a national priority when
laws are made and policies are established.
In 2003, NAHB's builder members will construct about
80 percent of all new housing in America, making housing
one of the largest and most powerful engines of economic
growth in the country. For

The New Jersey
Builders Association (NJBA) is a professional trade association
comprised of builders, remodelers, material suppliers,
subcontractors, consultants, lending institutions,
utilities and others involved in housing and building-related
fields. Their priorities: the promotion, protection
and improvement of the building industry in New Jersey.
The NJBA's policies are developed by a Board of Directors
comprised of builders and associates from around the
state. Policies are carried out by their full-time
professional staff and results-oriented committees.
In total, the NJBA's policies are formulated and implemented
by more than 200 industry experts.

The Builders Association of Northern New Jersey (BANNJ) is the non-profit trade association serving the New Jersey building industry in Bergen, Passaic, Sussex and Hudson counties. The organization is the local chapter of both the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and the New Jersey Builders Association (NJBA). The BANNJ acts as the collective voice for the local home building industry with homebuyers, the general public, the media, the trade, the real estate community, and government and elected officials.
BANNJ is comprised of approximately 270 builder, remodeler, land developer and associate members. In addition to regular meetings of the Officers and Board of Directors, the Association hosts and sponsors a wide variety of educational, networking, lobbying, recognition, fundraising and benevolent events during the year for members and non-members. Several standing and ad-hoc member committees dedicated to specific topics assist the Officers and Board to fulfill the mission of the Association.
